Shuriken Sentai Ninninger

**Updated 2/8/16 with the Tsumuji's (father) Akaninger, and Yoshitaka's (grandfather) Akaninger, and Midoninger**

Whoo!  May I introduce our newest Super Sentai series, Shuriken Sentai Ninninger!

"A Splendid Rampage!  Akaninger!"

"The Seething Moon!  Midoninger!"  (reported roll call, subject to change it once I see the movie)

"We are shinobi but we will not hide! I may be a shinobi, but let's have a party night (Starninger's phrase incorporated)!  Shuriken Sentai!  Ninninger!" 

Lots and lots to say about these designs.  First and foremost, male yellow, woot woot!  And a core white again, woot woot!  I've been wanting these core two on a core for a while now, ever since I made my own version of Kyoryuger's designs a couple years ago.  More for the pro column: new color scheme we haven't had for a core team before; unique helmets, especially Akaninger's asymmetrical shuriken-in-motion; I really like the sash's design incorporating the team's logo; using the Japanese colors as their titles; I like the high boots/stockings on the girls; I like that the team will be extended family/cousins.

On the con side: I'm kinda tired of asymmetrical chests, despite liking the sash; I still don't like using pink accents for Shironinger; I don't like the use of white boots here, especially since the gloves have plates and are black, it makes the limbs look mismatched; in that same vein, I don't like the gloves' cuffs and how they do not have a stripe to match, or that the boots have a stripe and don't match, either way; although I like the high boots/stockings, I don't like that Momoninger's are also white, nor do I like that their cuffs are on the ankles while the guys have the cuffs right below the knee; I don't like the single spot for silver (on the helmet) and gold (on the belt).  Those accent colors would've worked great elsewhere on the designs, but they're very underused here.

Like I said, I really like Akaninger's helmet with the asymmetrical shuriken-in-motion.  We haven't had that overtly of an asymmetrical red helmet design since the 70's with Battle Fever.  Sure, some reds have had symbols on their helmets, or numbers or gems, but Akaninger's shuriken is drastically different and it's cool.  And having pink and white both on a core hasn't happened since the 80's with Changeman...which also gave pink accents to its white.  And the three traditional primary colors (red, yellow, and blue) haven't all been male since Gaoranger, so that's pretty neat too.  I do like their chainmail-esque arms and 'undershirts' because it's much darker than Hurricaneger's silver.  But I do think it's odd that the black space between the girls' skirts and boots/stockings are just plain black and not textured.
