Nenshou Sentai Engineman, Extra Rangers

Description

This is another bit of Engineman's designs.  These are the more traditional "sixth" and "mentor" rangers for Nenshou Sentai Engineman (燃焼戦隊エンジンマン, lit: Combustion Force Engine-man)!

Engine Cyan and Engine Violet are the, I guess, true/sixth rangers, despite neither being numbered 7 and 9.  Further, despite looking like they're a set pair, they're not as they have different vehicle types, different shoulder armors, and different limb patterns.  Cyan's vehicle is a submarine, Violet's is a jet.  In this vein, they're kinda thematicaslly (Aquatic/Aerial) opposed to one another but work well as a unit.  Their mecha can form individual robos; can combine with one another; and can fold apart to form armor on either the Speed or Power Crew's robo.  However, they can't combine with the Super Rescue Crew's robo, but at this point, three individual robos are possible: Super Rescue Crew's (piloted by all six core rangers), Speed/Power Crew ver. Aquatic (piloted by Aqua), and Speed/Power Crew ver. Aerial (piloted by Violet).  Cyan and Violet have a throttle-like control on their left chest strap rather than a gear stick shifter like the core.

Engine Knight is my favorite of this update, and maybe the whole team.  He serves as the team's mentor and later on is granted his own set of powers, numbered 8, and based on trains.  Similar to Toqger, he can transfer forms, changing lines between the Power and Speed version of his abilities.  The Power Track is the darker gray suit, based on a locomotive, and has a bit more armor.  The Speed Track is the silver suit, based on a bullet train, and a bit more streamlined.  The shoulder armor for Speed Track is hidden underneath Power Track's, which I imagine are jetisoned off with no place on Speed Track.  The gold plates on the helmet rotate up and down for each form, covering up the lights of the non-used Track/form.  Speed Track's cable arm things become the lower helmet guard on Power Track, revealing the smokestack-like bit on top of the helmet.  His mecha is a huge locomotive-like base forming one bulky giant robo like other base robos.  The locomotive half can house the Power Crew's vehicles while the bullet train half can house the Speed Crew's vehicles.  Knight has colored buttons on his two straps, correlating to the Track he is using.

Engine Knight was decided to be number 8 before I designed any of these, so I'm fine with the more "traditional sixths" like Cyan and Violet being 7 and 9.  Cyan is 7 for the "seven seas" playing into her aquatic theme, and Violet is 9 for "cloud nine" playing into his aerial theme.  Engine Knight also being 8 helps with the line transfer gimmick with the lines changing on the chest.

Everything here is my hard work. Please don't touch anything without permission. Thanks.

Huh. Didn’t know Engine Knight came in two forms.
