Description

This is an idea I've had in the planning stages for months. And by planning, I mean, thought it up and couldn't come up with good designs. But alas! I've gotten what I wanted, so get ready for an essay of an explanation!

The idea behind this team is the possibility of an infinite around of parallel worlds and universes. "Mugen" (無限) means "infinite" and "Heiko" (平行) means "parallel". Literally, their name means "Infinite Squadron Parallel-ger".

This team is the from the 'Core' World. The main world, our world, what have you. They're the main characters within the context of the story. Dr. James Idnum (Latin for 'world', backwards) is a researcher in the field of quantum sciences when an experiment goes wrong and he makes contact with a parallel version of himself, Dr. Orter (Latin for 'back'...backwards), also working on quantum mechanics who has the same event occur in his own experiment at the same time. Together, they create and perfect the triggers that allow for travel within the various realities of the multiverse. Dr. Orter realizes the power they have can be used for much more than research, and betrays Idnum. Orter takes the trigger and begins to travel the multiverse himself. Independently, both Idnum and Orter discover that their travels in the multiverse have made them physically weak. Orter's solution is to exterminate his counterparts throughout the multiverse, with each death giving him more strength and health. Idnum, taking responsiblity for his part in introducing Orter to the endless possibilities of the multiverse and accepting his weakness and death, recruits a team to travel the multiverse and protect other counterparts and worlds from Orter's wrath. Idnum uses his experiences to create suits and an arsenal to protect and arm the team from the negative effects of traveling between worlds. This team becomes the Heikoger.
Their mission: to protect the multiverse from an evil man's ambitions, to discover and assist parallel worlds, and to form a united multidimensional front against Dr. Orter.

Will Ulrich is HeikoRed. Will serves as the leader of the team, using his expertise as a former intelligence security officer. Will is charming and sarcastic, but gets serious when the situation calls for it. Dr. Idnum recruits Will not only because of his vast strategic and reconnaissance knowledge, but also because of his strong desire to protect others.

Oliver Norman is HeikoGreen. Physically, Oliver is the strongest of the group and serves as de facto second-in-command. He's rough around the edges and doesn't mind getting caught in the middle of battle. He often acts before thinking, causing grief between him and his leader. Dr. Idnum recruits Oliver because of his drive to continually be stronger than others.

Rick Tate is HeikoBlue. Rick is the team's medical doctor and surgeon. He's curious about the biological systems of other worlds, often getting sidetracked with investigating parallel worlds. He prefers to find diplomatic solutions rather than engaging an opponent. Dr. Idnum recruits Rick because he is a great doctor and has a tendency to make tense situations calm.

Layla Owens is HeikoYellow. She is the daughter of a notorious con-man, and while she is not a criminal herself, Layla is quite skilled in the 'art of the con'. She is cunning, seductive, and sometimes well-connected. Dr. Idnum recruits her because she looks for ways to distance herself from her criminal roots and make right what has been done wrong to others.

Diana Lee is HeikoPink. Diana is the resident cute, little sister type of the group. She is a classically trained martial artist, but comes across very shy. Diana is also very smart and capable, and tends to be the one who finds the quickest and most efficient fixes when things break. Dr. Idnum recruits her because of her hidden potential, both mentally and physically.

Sebastian Damon is the sixth ranger, HeikoWhite. Sebastian is actually a member of the Heikoranger from a parallel world. His world is extremely similar to our own with one key difference: he is the only surviving Heikoger. The rest of his team was systematically killed one by one, by Orter and his forces. Using his survival skills from military training and his genius-level intellect, Sebastian survived. He is found by these five Heikoger and is recruited to the team by Dr. Idnum. Sebastian proves to be a valuable asset because of his genius-level intellect and inventor heart.

The team itself was really fun to create. Their names reveal something hidden. I'm just gonna share it because I like what I did (go figure?). Take the first letter of their first and last names. The first names spell out W.O.R.L.D.S. and the last names spell out U.N.T.O.L.D. I thought some hidden easter egg like that would be fun and interesting to incorporate, given the theme. Their roll call is just simply their ranger designation, Heiko*insert color*. Then the whole team says part of, if not the complete, mission statement, featured above.

The suits incorporate the letter H, a lot. I also wanted the suits to look tech-based, so I used a lot of sharp corners throughout. The center chest H started out as a cube, with two sides meeting at a corner in the center. The cube represented the X, Y, and Z dimensions. But then a took out the top side of the cube, and left an I-looking shape in the H. It looks like an H, but the black I-shape has a meaning since it's connecting the two halves (worlds) of the H (reality, universe, whatever floats your boat). I'm not great with metaphors, sue me.

The helmets have a silver H running down the center to the visor. At the center top of the visor, the H forms a shape for each ranger. The top half of the H has a number system, corresponding to ranking. Red, pentagon, 5; Green, rectangle, 4; Blue, triangle, 3; Yellow, circle, 2; and Pink, heart, 1. Since White is from a parallel world, his suit doesn't follow along the same design. The inside top half of his H is divided into six parts by the lines and his helmet horn/blade. He also has armor pieces where the others do not, but this was standard in his team. While the first five Heikogers have a pentagon on their belt, White has a circle, further distinguishing his suit from the others.

Each world the team travels to has a counterpart Heikoger Squadron. Some are very similar, like Sebastian's, while some are drastically different. They come in all types of shapes, sizes, and colors. While each world has a counterpart Heikoger team, not all the teams are capable of traveling through the multiverse. When I make other versions of the teams, I will provide a little explanation of their universe. More often than not, there will be a HeikoWhite equivalent, but not all will because Sebastian/White is from another dimension and joins the team at a later point. Some of the parallel teams will be *hopefully* really cool. I have plenty in the planning stages, and this is an idea I intend to return to for a very long time, especially as I think up new stories or designs for each parallel team.

Here's a list of parallel Heikogers, some to come soon, some just listed as an idea for now. Each parallel universe gets a four-digit code to distinguish them apart from one another and will be placed in the upper left corner of each team. I will likely debut a few versions of the Heikoger at a time. I'll try and keep the descriptions brief. When I debut the actual teams, I'll provide more in depth explanations.
C0R3 - The core team above.
NFT3 - Super deformed Heikogers.
MCR0 - Smaller, dwarf-like team.
J5T5 - Large, almost cartoony team.
6NDR - Reverse genders.
N85R - Very similar suits.
N6TV - Negative/reverse Heikogers.
CH81 - A chibi/pygmy like team.
N1M7 - Team of animal-human hybrids.
5UPR - Sebastian/HeikoWhite's team. While deceased, I plan on making them as kind of digital hologramy-ghosts or something.
3V17 - An evil team of Heikogers.
37MT - Element-inspired team.

So that's the idea and plan. Like I said, I'll be returning to the Heikoger idea frequently. As you can see, I've got quite a few ideas for stories and worlds for the C0R3 Heikoger to travel to. If you've got some cool idea of a parallel world for them to eventually travel to, I'd be more than happy to hear it out. Leave it in the comments or send me a note.

Everything here is my hard work. Please don't touch anything without permission. Thanks.

And thanks for reading it all! (...If you did!)

Why use Western-based names for a Sentai? That makes zero sense to me.
