Kyousou Sentai Soudaiger, Water

Kyousou (競争) means competition, rivalry, contest, or tournament.  Soudai (壮大/ そうだい) means magnificent, grand, majestic, or splendid.  Their sentai name is therefore along the lines of "Competition Sentai Magnificent-ranger".  In that same vein, they can be known as Power Rangers Grand Contest.  Pictured above is the water team.

In a context of a story, an alien invasion termed by Earth's governments as H.I.V.E. threatens to dismantle said governments and enslave humanity.  In response, a united fighting force is developed and assembled to confront H.I.V.E.  Despite the threat from H.I.V.E., governments and officials only reward teams for their defeats of alien invaders.  As such, competition and rivalry has been fostered among the teams for funding, gear, weaponry, repairs, etc.  The teams constantly feud among themselves in addition to the ongoing conflicts with H.I.V.E.  It is only when a sixth element arrives that the teams begin to truly unite against H.I.V.E. and oppose the system created by corrupt governments and officials.

Pictured above is the water team.  They are associated with colors near blue and fish.  As with the entire idea though, the animals are their roll call titles, not their colors.

Each individual team shares similarities among their individuals.  Each team has its own symbol, pictured above the leader and featured in the center of the chest.  Each team also shares the same color on their belt and animal eyes.  This color is meant to contrast the leader most, but does contrast with the others well.  The visor shape for each team is unique, but different helmets have additional features which make the visors look more individualized, i.e. teeth, beaks, horns, tusks.  The leader of each team has gold accents to stand out among their team.  Each team also has a ranking within themselves (the roll call rank) which can also be found on their left shoulders: the leader will have one gold bar/line, the rest will have silver lines from 2-5.
